EVEN after repeated protests the Bihar Government and district administrations did not pay heed to the people’s cry for water in this scorching summer. In the face of Government apathy, people are having to make arrangements themselves. Young CPI(ML) leader from Samastipur and AIARLA President of Tajpur Block, Prabhat Ranjan Gupta, with the cooperation of the local people took initiatives to arrange water at Ward No 5, Kasbe-Ahar Panchayat in Tajpur Block. Under this campaign, old and defunct water supply connections were dug up and refurbished to supply drinking water to the poor Mohalla in Neemchowk Bazaar area, giving great relief to the people. CPIML leaders Surendra Prasad Singh and Prabhat Ranjan Gupta demanded clean and potable drinking water from the administration.
