Kisan Sammelans (farmers’ conferences) were organized across Bihar on 23 December 2020 including Bhojpur. The conference organized by the All India Kisan Mahasabha at Charpokhri in Bhojpur began with two minutes’ silence to pay tribute to the farmers martyred during the ongoing struggle against the anti-farm laws 2020.
CPIML Block Secretary Raghuvar Paswan said that the government wants to start Company Raj once again in this country. Farmers across the country are agitating on the roads to Delhi against the anti-farm laws but the government, instead of meeting their rightful demands, is wielding lathis against them and unleashing brutal repression against them.
Agiaon MLA Manoj Manzil said that about 30 farmers have so far been martyred during this struggle. The farmers are at the borders of Delhi even in this extreme cold but the government continues in its autocratic behavior. Through these black farm laws the government wants to hand over farmers and farming to Adani-Ambani. When the farmers protest against this, they are being falsely branded as Naxalites and anti-nationals. The BJP government is attacking democracy with the intent of destroying our Constitution.
Comrade Manoj Manzil further said that CPIML will fight strongly against the Modi government’s fascist agenda and these three black anti-farm laws.
The Kisan Sammelan was conducted by Comrade Dashai Ram and was attended by hundreds of farmers and leaders including Block Secretary Raghuvar Paswan, Poshwa Panchayat Mukhiya Jaikumar Yadav, AISA District President Pappu Kumar, Vishun Ji, Bhushan Yadav, RYA leader Amit Yadav and others.
