All India Lawyers’ Association for Justice (AILAJ) expressed grave concern on the alleged custodial death of Mr. Joel Shindani Malu, a national from the Democratic Republic of Congo on 2 August, and the subsequent actions of the police in resorting to a lathi charge against the protesters and their arrest.

August 15 this year will mark 74 years of India’s freedom from colonial rule. After three-quarters of a century of independence, have Indians achieved the freedom of which they dreamed – from the repression, draconian laws, and plunder that marked colonial rule?

All India Central Council of Trade Unions has launched a countrywide Campaign from 1 to 9 August (Quit India Movement Day) and hold protest demonstrations against Modi-Shah regime. AICCTU has called for a countrywide for 'Repeal Labour Codes' which was concluded in protest sit-ins at all State capitals and District HQs on 15 February.

A dharna was organized in Nainital at the conclusion of the campaign by workers’ leaders from various unions which was addressed by ASHA Health Workers Union leader Kamla Kunjwal, Advocate Durga Singh Mehta, Dr Kailash Pandey, Durga Tamta, Bima Karmachari Union leader Manoj Gupta, AN Bhatt and others.

AISA called for a protest against the wrongful and politically motivated incarceration of Disha Ravi and against the rising suppression of people's voices standing with protesting farmers and their demands.

Responding to the nationwide call given by AIKSCC, All India Kisan Mahasabha leaders and activists and farmers across Bihar clanged plates during Prime Minister Modi's Mann ki Baat address and registered their protest. This program was carried out extensively in the capital Patna as well as rural areas in the State.

CPIML has called upon its party units in all states to join protests on 25 September called by farmers’ organisations against the Anti-farmer Bills passed by the Parliament without any division of votes in Rajya Sabha.
