A 3-member delegation comprising CPIML MLA Mahboob Alam, State Committee member Kumar Parvez and RYA State Secretary Sudhir Kumar met the Bihar State Home Secretary on the issue of the attack by Bajrang Dal activists on the Citizens’ Protest against abrogation of Article 370 and Article 35A in Kashmir, held at Kargil Chowk, Patna on 5 August 2019. The Bajrang Dal activists used obscene abuses against the citizens, attacked them, created an atmosphere of hate through lies and rumours on social media, and threatened with mob lynching. The CPIML delegation submitted a memorandum to the Home Secretary on this issue. The Home Secretary has assured them of prompt action in this matter.

Meanwhile, the organizers of the Citizens’ March in Patna have appealed to the Gandhi Maidan Thana to register a case of cyber-crime in connection with defamation and false and malicious propaganda. This appeal has been made by AIPWA Bihar State President Saroj Chaube, CPI State Secretarial Board member Vijay Narayan Mishra, Bihar Mahila Samaj leader Nivedita Jha, Mushtaq Raht, Vimukta Women’s Organization leader Akanksha and others. Sharing Facebook and U-tube links, they have demanded action against Rajashri Kumari and all others who have justified the attacks and are constantly issuing threats via social media. Left leaders and activists are being threatened with mob lynching via Facebook live. They have also given the link to Prayas, supposedly a video channel, which propagated the false news that slogans of ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ were raised at the Citizens’ Protest. They have demanded action against this channel also, which aired the video that challenges the law and the administration with open calls for communal violence. The reality is that the Bajrang Dal goons had perpetrated the attack with slogans of ‘Godse Zindabad’ eulogizing the killer of the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi.
