A rally was organized at Baliya Nagar under the banners of Baliya Nagar Panchayat Futkar Dukandar Sangh (affiliated to AICCTU). Hundreds of small shopkeepers and vendors participated in the rally and subsequent dharna addressed by CPIML leader Indra Dev Ram. Addressing the dharna, CPIML District Secretary Diwakar Kumar said that the Nitish-Modi government is committed to anti-worker policies. He demanded that permanent shops should be constructed for footpath vendors; the incomplete construction of Nali Gali Yojana in Baliya Panchayat should be completed; government land, housing and employment for rural poor; free drinking water, education, health facilities and electricity; gutter construction for water drainage at Station Road; regularization of sanitation workers; and wages for workers to be paid from the Central Budget. The dharna was also addressed by CPI leader Sanoj Saroj, Nityanand Singh, Vijay Kumar Singh, Laddulal Das, Prashant Kashyap, Mohd Sohrab, Mohd Shahrikh, Lal Babu, Mohd Shakeel Ahmed and others.
