Shows Vacancy of Chairperson Position as Reason!

IN Spite of Complaints by Slum Dwellers against Casteist Construction of Wall to All Authorities, No Action Taken Yet!!

Do Dalits and Poor Matter for the Government?

Residents of Dalit and Working Class slums in Delhi's Vasant Vihar area have been raising voice against an illegally constructed wall and gate meant to restrict passage of slum dwellers through a public road in Delhi's Vasant Vihar area. The wall has been constructed on 28th June. This is a clear case of Casteist humiliation against Dalit slum dwellers.

The residents of Priyanka Gandhi Camp and Kusumpur Pahadi have complained to Vasant Vihar Police Station, Delhi Government's Department for the Welfare of SC/ST/OBC and Central Government's National Commission for Scheduled Castes. None of the authorities have acted so far.

While the illegal construction went ahead in the presence of Vasant Vihar police, the police hadn't acted. And now the police is denying to acknowledge complaint submitted by residents of Priyanka Gandhi Camp.

A complaint to the National Commission for Scheduled Castes was also filed by residents of Kusumpur Pahadi Slum. When members of CPIML enquirer about the status of the complaint, we were told that no complaint is being entertained due to vacant position of chairperson.

We have seen many cases of Dalit atrocities during the Pandemic and lockdown all over the country. The government is clearly acting on behalf of the oppressors of Dalits by denying to act against such cases.

We demand

The Police and the National Commission of SC as well as State Welfare board immediately act against the illegally construction of wall.
No Excuse to Casteism!
Pandemic Is Not a Justification!
Casteist Walls Must Fall!
