CPIML in Giridih, Jharkhand castigated the Central and State governments for depriving people of ration distributed under the State government and housing under the PM Awaas Yojana. Rations for the month of September have not been distributed in the District and lakhs of people have been denied the benefits of the PM Awaas Yojana.
A Mahadharna was organized on 6 November at Giridih in protest of non-distribution of rations meant for the poor. Addressing the dharna, CPIML MLA Vinod Kumar Singh said that Giridih District has been neglected from the time of the earlier BJP government. This time the entire September rations have been made to vanish; this is a serious matter and action must be taken against all those who are implicated in this. Former MLA Rajkumar Yadav said that the government talks big on development but more than 350 villages in the District are denied roads under PMGSY. The ML leaders also demanded immediate payment of honorarium/wages to Poshan Sakhis, Jal Sahiyas and all other contract workers. The honorariums are pending because the Central government has failed to send funds. The Modi government is subjecting working people to continuous injustice.
Rajkumar Yadav said that the loot is rampant everywhere, in ration disbursement as well as in the name of development. Zila Parishad tenders are being given to very low bids due to bribery and 'commissions' and this is directly affecting the quality of work.
