CPIML activists protested against prepaid meters and burnt effigies of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and the country's Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 2 November. A protest march was organized from the CPIML Fatuha Block office with slogans against the Modi-Nitish governments, the Prepaid Meter Act and the government's treachery against farmers and workers. The march culminated at the Fatuha Chowk where effigies of Modi and Nitish Kumar were burnt. The farmers and workers of Bihar as well as across the country are already groaning under the brunt of inflation and price rise, and to top it all the Nitish cabinet has enforced prepaid meters to break the back of farmers and the poor. It was demanded to immediately revoke the Prepaid Meter Act.
