CPIML has strongly condemned the eviction of 55 dalit families who were settled on and cultivating 36 acres of 1988 ceiling land in Rampur Tilak village,  Jankinagar Thana, Banmankhi Block in Purnea District. The Nitish government says that only 26000 persons in Bihar now remain landless, but the reality is that instead of being given land the poor are being evicted everywhere.

Receipts for this land have been issued till 2017. Out of the 55 families, 38 are Musahar, 12 Ravidas, 1 Dusadh, 2 Dhobi and 2 Teli families. The ceiling was arbitrarily cancelled through the court. First, the police arrived, which was opposed by the villagers. After the protest by villagers the police left. At that time the administration said that all the families would be settled on other land. Now the administration has gone back on its promise and is bent on evicting these dalit poor families.

CPIML Bihar Secretary Kunal has condemned this action and demanded from the Nitish government to stop the District administration from evicting the poor.
