Rozgar Sangharsh Morcha in Bihar

The Rozgar Adhikar Mahasammelan (Right to Employment Convention) organized by the Rozgar Sangharsh Samyukta Morcha will be held on 9 March 2022 at the Nritya Kala Mandir in Patna. It will be attended by aspirants for more than two dozen recruitments.

Addressing the press, MLAs Manoj Manzil and Sandeep Saurabh said that despite the completion of all processes for BSSC 2014, the final list of candidates is not being declared and candidates are not being given appointment letters for joining. Army recruitments have been left in limbo for a long time. STET 2019 appointments are pending in the court due to announcement violations by the Education Department and the Education Minister. Date after date is being given continuously for appointment of CTET qualified candidates. More than 2.75 lakh teachers’ posts are vacant in Bihar schools but the government is not filling these vacancies. On one hand the youth are distressed by unemployment and on the other hand the students are suffering because of schools ruined due to lack of teachers.

The BJP-JDU government which had promised 19 lakh jobs appointed ‘statistics volunteers’ and threw them into unemployment after extracting work from them for a couple of years. Unemployment is at its peak in the country today. There is a 53.2% shortage of health workers in Bihar. The BJP-JDU government led by Nitish Kumar is driven entirely by pro-corporate policies. Youth are being recruited on contract, thereby exploiting their labour.

We demand that all pending recruitments should be completed immediately and the complete calendar for recruitments should be released. A policy should be made for all recruitment advertisements to carry the date by which the recruitment should be completed and action should be taken against departments that fail to complete the recruitment within this timeline. All competitive exam results should be made transparent and issuance of answer keys should be made mandatory. The government should issue a white paper on the vacant posts in various departments of Bihar and the plan to fill them. A special session of the Assembly should be called to discuss employment and recruitments in Bihar.

The press conference was attended by AISA National General Secretary Sandeep Saurabh, RYA National President Manoj Manzil, Santosh Gupta from Aniyojit Karyapalak Sahayak (unorganized workers assistance), Shashi Shekhar from Ameen Bahali, Roshan Kumar from Sipahi (constable) Bahali 2009, Abhishek from Sankhyiki Swayamsewk (statistics volunteers), Anshu Kumar from Special Survey Amin Bahali, Saket Kumar from Pharmacists Recruitment, Deepak Kumar and Dhananjay Kumar from STET Non-Merit and Vishal Kumar from the Para-Medical Students Association.
