Bihar Govt’s Decision to Give State Employee Status to Four Lakh Teachers a Welcome Move: CPIML

In a statement issued on December 27, CPI(ML) State Secretary Kunal has welcomed the Bihar government's decision to make nearly 4 lakh employed teachers of Bihar as state employees. CPIML leader Sandeep Saurav had been in the forefront of teachers’ movement for the state employee status. CPI(ML) leaders had been regularly meeting on this issue with the government and leaders of Mahagathbandhan parties for this demand. 

The statement also raised concern regarding several undemocratic decisions by Bihar education department in recent days, which has adversely impacted women and people with disability. Com. Kunal said that all the demands raised by teachers’ movements needs to be addressed by the government on an urgent basis and the undemocratic decision by the education department must by revoked.
