THE Loksabha Election of 2019 has been declared. The Youth is going to play a crucial role in electing the next government. Thousands of Youth had participated in Young India Adhikar March on 7th February asking the government to respond to the demands by the end of February. But like last five years, no response was received from the government. In this context, the Young India National Coordination Committee held a meeting on 17th February. On 18 February,  a Press Conference was held at Press Club of India by YINCC. 23 representatives of different Youth Movement for employment, elected Student Union, Student-Youth organisations of different political parties and movement for social justice spoke at the Press Conference. The YINCC also released a Young India Charter for 2019.

Gopal Tiwari, from movement against SSC Paper Leak said, We have suffered a lot under the BJP Government. When we protested against SSC Paper Leak, we had to stay under the open sky. They did not listen to us. They instead extended tenure of SSC Chairperson Ashim Khurana who oversaw the corruption. We had nothing to do with politics. But now we must take part in election campaign to defeat BJP.

N Sai Balaji, JNUSU President said, “The Young India is demanding 10% of GDP on education. We are demanding right to dignified employment must be recognized a fundamental right. We are demanding implementation of reservation for SC/ST/OBC. What wrong are we demanding? The BJP has betrayed on all of this. And we must vote them out. We will hold more than 50 Jan Sabhas in important towns in the country. The first on will be in Badayun, in Najeebs hometown”.
Ashish Mishra from All India Railway Apprentice Association said that the railway apprentices are protesting for long demanding permanent employment and rights. We have been betrayed thoroughly. What is your Skill India if the skilled railway workers are not getting secured jobs?

Nisar, from Samajwadi Yuvajan Sabha said that we all are together in defeating BJP. We will collaborate with YINCC to hold rallies in major towns of the country.

Sucheta De from AISA said that part of the student movement we know what the students have faced in last five years. The education budget is lowest since independence. Our friends, student activists who are part of struggles for affordable education were attacked by the government, Rohith Vemula was pushed to suicide just because he opposed RSS ideology and Rajnikant Yadav of Allahabad University is pushed to suicide because he doesn’t have a place to stay in Allahabad. Now the student-youth have come together to uphold our rights. We must defeat BJP for the same.

Laxman Yadav from Joint Forum for academic and Social Justice said, For moe than one year we struggled against 13 point roster for SC/ST/OBC reservation. The cabinet was forced to bring an ordinance. But at what time? When no application for faculty positions can be taken because of election. The 13 point roster is definitely an assault on social justice. It is also an assault on right to employment.

Representatives of AISA, SFI, AISF and CYSS said that youth representatives are contesting from their organisations. Com. Kanhaiya Kumar from AISF will contest as CPI candidate from Begusarai, Bihar. Com. P V Shanu, SFI National President will contest from Mallapuram, Kerala as CPI (M) candidate. Former AISA national leader Raju Yadav is the CPIML candidate from Arrah. Youth representatives will also contest from Delhi as AAP candidates.

The Young India Charter for 2019 Election puts together the betrayals against the youth by Modi Government. It also includes a set of demands on behalf of the youth.
