Former member of Buxar District Committee Comrade Gauri Shankar Ram (Lalan) passed away at the age of 70 on 25 June 2020 after a long illness. He had been seriously ill for about 7 to 8 months, having suffered a paralytic attack while doing Party work in Chougai Block. Despite medical treatment, his condition did not improve.
Comrade Gauri Shankar Ram was a very sociable and courageous friend to all of us and had a wonderful knack of relating to people. He was a dedicated and loyal activist ever since he joined the Party in 1980.
Comrade Gauri Shankar hailed from the historically known village of Kaithar Kala in Rajpur Block of undivided Bhojpur (now Buxar). He was known to the people of Bhojpur and Rohtas Districts as Lalan Ji during the underground days. His also worked for a long period in Mohaniya-Bhabhua. He had played an important role in the building of the Party and also served as Secretary in Rajpur, Itadi, Dumraon and Chougai Blocks of Buxar District.
