on Phulwarisharif Incident

CPIML Bihar State Secretary Kunal wrote to Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on 24 July 2022 regarding the false propaganda and alleged ‘terrorist and anti-national activities’ in Phulwarisharif and appealed to the Chief Minister to look at the case from his own level.

The party said through the letter that the entire Muslim community and Phulwarisharif are being defamed on the basis of one or two suspected incidents. Phulwari is being labelled 'Atank ki Phulwari' (Bed of Terrorism) by the administration and the police through the media. Such news consistently spreading falsehood and hate is sending the Muslim community into a state of fear, whereas just one day ago the Chief Justice of India has said that media trial of cases under jurisdiction should stop.

Comrade Kunal said that the police are not showing any evidence to the people but all sorts of news regarding this is being flaunted in the media, resulting in a situation of confusion and misunderstanding.

The Constitution and democracy require that media trial of such cases be stopped and action be taken against persons conspiring to defame the Muslim community and Phulwarisharif. Therefore the Chief Minister should intervene in this matter at his own level.
