Brutal Repression of Agitating CTET Candidates

CPIML condemns the brutal lathcharge on 22 August on agitating youth demanding teachers’ appointment in Bihar and warned the state government to not repeat the same language of repression on unemployed youth as was being done in the earlier government. The party has demanded from the state government to start negotiations with the agitating students/candidate teachers and take stern action against officials responsible for police repression on innocent agitators without any delay.

The state secretary Kunal has also asked to immediately issue the notification for the appointments letters for the 7th phase of CTET passed candidates in Bihar. The question of employment is the first priority for the youth in the state and the government must also be careful in listening to the genuine demands of the people. Such rabid oppressive behavior of the administration cannot be taken for granted and the concerned officials particularly the ADM KK Singh who himself was seen beating the students with lathi must be removed from the post. The state government should also take appropriate steps to prevent any repeat of such incidents.
